01 OVERVIEW

NAT D 500 is made of a fat soluble form of vitamin D3 called cholecalciferol. Vitamin D is an essential component for bone growth, strength, formation and regeneration. Vitamin D supplementation provides support in conditions where higher levels of vitamin D is required due to poor diet, inadequate exposure to the sun or individuals prone to bone disorders. Vitamin D also plays an important role in boosting the immune system.

Each capsule contains: 

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol 125 μg) – 5,000 IU  833.33 % (% RDA)

**An RDA for children (> 1 year), Adolescents, and Adults (<70 years) is 600 IU

NAT D 5000 is not recommended for usage in children as it contains higher doses of vitamin D (5000 IU) and the advised dietary allowance for children in only 600 IU.
Adults and elderly people with vitamin D deficiency may take 1 capsule daily or as directed by their physician.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of NAT D 5000, patients with hypercalcemia (high calcium levels) or vitamin D toxicity must avoid using NAT D 5000.
NAT D 5000 may not cause any side effects if taken according to the prescribed dosage and duration.
NAT D 5000 contains vitamin D3. Excessive intake of vitamin D3 leads to the development of hypercalcemia (high calcium levels). Symptoms of over dosage may include anorexia, lassitude, nausea and vomiting, constipation or diarrhoea, polyuria, nocturia, sweating, headache, thirst, and vertigo.
Safe use of vitamin D in pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Prolonged hypercalcemia (high calcium levels) during pregnancy may lead to suppression of parathyroid hormone concentrations in the baby, resulting in hypocalcaemia (low calcium levels) and seizures. Therefore, NAT D 5000 is not recommended for usage during pregnancy and lactation without medical advice.
NAT D 5000 (Vitamin D3) should be administered with extreme caution in patients with impaired kidney function, kidney stones or heart diseases, as excessive amounts may worsen their existing condition.
