Normagut contains saccharomyces boulardii a friendly probiotic yeast which nutritionally supports health of the gut & treats diarrhoea. It helps in recolonising the intestine during and after antibiotic use & replenishes the good bacteria, preventing diarrhoea which is the most common side effect of antibiotics. Normagut helps in the establishment and maintenance of a well functioning intestinal flora.

Freeze-dried yeast of Saccharomyces boulardii (at least 2.5 billion viable cells) : 250mg

How does NORMAGUT treat diarrhoea?

NORMAGUT contains a yeast called Saccharomyces boulardii, which introduces beneficial microbes into the intestines. The yeast also provides protection against bad bacteria and their toxins. Through these mechanisms NORMAGUT can help maintain a well-functioning intestinal flora, and help treat and prevent diarrhoea.

I am prescribed a 7-day course of antibiotic for chest infection. I always get diarrhoea when I take antibiotics. Can NORMAGUT help in preventing such condition?

Yes, you may use NORMAGUT to prevent diarrhoea caused by antibiotics. Sometimes antibiotics can, in addition to the infecting agents, affect the good microbes in our gut, causing loose stools and cramps. NORMAGUT helps in establishment and maintenance of a well-functioning intestinal flora.

My 8-months old baby has diarrhoea. Can I use NORMAGUT for him?

NORMAGUT can be used in infants below 1 year. However please consult your doctor before using NORMAGUT.

My 2-year-old son cannot swallow the capsule. How should I give him NORMGUT for diarrhoea?

NORMAGUT is easy to administer to kids. You may break the capsule and mix its contents with a glass of water or juice. It can also be given through a feeding bottle.

Where do I store NORMAGUT?

You can store NORMAGUT at room temperature, below 25°C, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.

Are there any side-effects of NORMAGUT?

No, NORMAGUT is safe, and does not cause any side effects.

Who should not take NORMAGUT?

Although NORMAGUT is considered safe, you should avoid taking NORMAGUT if you are hypersensitive to yeast, or have low immune function.

I have a trip planned out of my country, can I take NORMAGUT even before the trip to prevent any stomach upsets?

Yes, you may use NORMAGUT before your trip to prevent stomach upsets caused due to travelling. You may take NORMAGUT once or twice daily for 5 days prior to travel. The course should be continued for the duration of travel in order to maintain a good balance of gut flora.

I’m taking oral anti-fungal medications to treat a fungal infection, can I take NORMAGUT?

Taking NORMAGUT along with anti-fungal medication may impair its function, and hence not recommended.

I’m on medications to treat to depression, is it safe to take NORMAGUT?

It is not recommended to take NORMAGUT with certain class of anti-depressant medications (Mono Amino Oxidase inhibitors), as it can result in increased blood pressure levels. Please consult your doctor before taking NORMAGUT in case you are on any of these medications.
