Frequently Asked Questions

GOFEX is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It is also used to relieve pain in arthritis, primary dysmenorrhea, and post-surgical pain.
GOFEX contains diclofenac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. This means that diclofenac can reduce inflammation, relieve pain and treat fever. Hence, it is beneficial in conditions like arthritis, dysmenorrhea and post-operative pain.
GOFEX should be taken only under medical supervision in individuals with any type of renal impairment. If the individual has an advanced renal disease, GOFEX is not recommended. The dosage of GOFEX may be reduced in patients with hepatic impairment.
It is not recommended to take GOFEX along with blood thinners, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Taking GOFEX along with blood pressure medications like triamterene may result in reversible impairment of renal function. Thus, it is not recommended to take these combinations together.
GOFEX should not be taken with aspirin, as it increases the risk of adverse effects. These include decreased ability of diclofenac to bind to protein, increased excretion of diclofenac by liver, and reduced concentration of diclofenac in the blood.
GOFEX may cause various cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nervous system, and dermatologic effects: • Swelling due to fluid retention • Congestive heart failure • High blood pressure • Faster heart rate (Tachycardia) • Fainting or passing out (Syncope) • Peptic ulcers • Gastrointestinal bleeding • Headache • Dizziness • Rash • Itchiness (pruritus)
GOFEX may increase the risk of myocardial infarction, cardiovascular thrombotic events, stroke, bleeding, ulceration, perforation of stomach or intestine. Patients with high blood pressure, heart failure or fluid retention and elderly patients should be monitored closely during initiation of diclofenac therapy and throughout therapy.
GOFEX should not be used in pregnant women, as there are not sufficient studies that prove its safety. Moreover, lactating women should also not take GOFEX as it may cause serious reactions in the nursing infants.
